
Fayçal Benameur who has been working at OCP Group for the last 22 years, is currently based in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia, as Group Senior Vice President for East & Southern Africa.
A graduate from the executive program of MIT Sloan School (USA) and from the Mining Engineering School of Rabat (Morocco), He first joined the OCP Group in 1999. He was the Operation Manager for the Khouribga mining facilities, mainly “Sidi Daoui”.
In 2007, he was appointed as a taskforce member in the largest strategic review deployed at Group level at the time. Then followed a 2008 assignment to the industrial investment program in order to implement the outcome of the task force as Project Director for the new phosphate ore beneficiation plants. He thereafter joined the team assigned to setup a joint venture between “Jacobs Engineering” and “OCP Group” in 2009. The newly created JESA soon became a global provider of technical, professional, and scientific services, including engineering, architecture, construction, operations and maintenance.
Mr. Benameur rejoined OCP in 2012, to setup a new division as the Director of “New Products Development”. He lead the development of new businesses for the company such as Animal Feed Phosphate, water soluble fertilizers, customized NPK formulation upon agronomic research, etc. He was appointed as Vice President – PMO for the Group’s Industrial Investment Program in 2015, and as Vice-President of Innovation and Technology within OCP Group in 2016.
The end of 2016 saw Fayçal Benameur being expatriated to Ethiopia to setup the OCP Ethiopia office, paving the way for the largest exposure of OCP aboard. Two years later, the scope of his responsibilities have been enlarged to encompass all eastern and southern countries as Senior Vice President for Eastern & Southern Africa.
