Fernando Balderrama, an American national, is Chief Investment Officer in the Industrialization Private Finance team at African Development Bank. Fernando is responsible for deal origination in the industrial sector and has been with AfDB since 2010. He previously worked in international development and management consulting in London and Washington DC. Fernando holds a Masters in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Economics from the University of Sussex. For his bachelors, he attended the University of Maryland. With a focus on long-term corporate and project finance, Fernando’s attention is directed at finding commercially viable opportunities to industrialize Africa.
